Last July I traveled to Italy with a friend. It was the week of her birthday so I thought I would try and find a place for use to have dinner. Her boyfriend and friend also joined us on this trip. First I should explain that when we traveled together the first thing we do is the most important...we identify all the places we want to eat. So this trip was no different. We identified the cities we wanted to visit. Our first stop in Italy was Rome. In my research I found the perfect place to celebrate my friend's birthday. I did a search on YouTube of the "What to Eat in Rome" and one video stood out to me. It was a couple named Simone and Martina. One of the places in their video was at Federica & Barbara's. After watching that video I knew this was the place and I booked it.
Where do I even start!!!!! This was the highlight of our 9 day trip to Italy!!! I booked our reservation on EatWith and Federica and Barbara messaged me immediately. She answered any questions I had. I told her it was my friend's birthday and she said they would make sure to make it special. As soon as you walk through the front door you're greeted as if they've known you for years. You get hugs you and a glass of wine and from that moment on the experience gets better and better. We had 23 people in our group and by the end of the night, it was like we were all besties and have been friends forever!
On to the food!!!! Everything we had, and I mean EVERYTHING was just amazing!!!! We were able to watch her in the kitchen finishing off some of the dishes and for me that was a highlight in itself because I'm a home cook and I love being in the kitchen. Federica, Barbara, and her team went out of their way to make everyone feel at home and welcome.
At the end of dinner, it was a few people's birthdays and anniversaries and as promised Federica and Barbara made it special for her guest. I am definitely planning on going back!!!
